Becoming Networked Educators: Two Perspectives

In the past decade, our society has seen a remarkable advance in the availability of new communication technologies, the insurmountable growth of knowledge, and the rise of new networking technologies. Yet, formal educational institutions have been slow to respond to these trends in any meaningful and significant way. Alec & George Couros will take this opportunity to share their knowledge regarding the new possibilities for teaching & learning in the networked age. They will share their respective stories, describe exemplary practice of individuals around the world, and provide participants with important advice for beginning the journey toward becoming a networked educator.

What Do We Keep and What Do We Throw Away?: Living and Learning in the 21st Century

Change the Outcome of the Game!

Technology is the new utility.  Schools close without the availability of water, heat or electric.

We are at the point now where access to network services is essential for the safe and effective operation of a school building/district.

But is your information technology department viewed as an integral part of the culture of your organization?

Strategies will be highlighted on how to transform the perception of the role and function of an IT Department in a K-12 school district of any size.

Get off the sidelines and get into the huddle – you have to be on the field in order to change the outcome of the game!
